Best of the Best Italian cream cake

Ingredients:

1 cup buttermilk

1tsp baking powder

5 large eggs, separated

2 cups sugar

1 stick butter, soft

½ cup shortening

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup pecans, chopped,

1 can coconut, chopped

2 cups flour.

Instructions:

Cream shortening, butter, sugar and egg yolks in a bowl, flour and buttermilk, mix well, add coconut, pecans, vanilla and play well. BeatProteins in a separate bowl until stiff and mix into the cake. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes in pans 3 layers. Let cool before frosting.

Frosting:

4 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla

8-oz cream cheese 1 box powdered sugar,

1 cup chopped walnuts.

Mix and spread icing on aircraft. Put 1 / 3 cup chopped walnuts to the first layer of frosting, add 1/3-cup chopped walnuts to the 2nd layerIcing. End spread frosting on top and sides of cake and then place 1/3-cup chopped walnuts on top.

Serves 8-10

Note: This cake can be made in a baking dish Layer Cake in a 9x13 inch, but not nearly as good. Another fun and a good idea is to create five fifty-seven drops of food coloring, depending on how you want to add vibrant colors. Put the food coloring for the cake and ice sometimes and sometimes justor the cake or frosting. I choose my colors, selected during the holidays as I have red or green for Christmas.
